Apply for the organisation of weekly markets
A weekly market is a regularly recurring, temporary event at which several traders are allowed to offer certain groups of goods. If you want to organise a weekly market, you need the approval of the competent authority.
With the approval, you as the organiser are allowed to hold the weekly market and are obliged to do so.

Prerequisite
- personal reliability of the applicant or the person responsible for the management of the weekly market
- The holding of the weekly market must not be contrary to the public interest.
- The protection of the vendors and the visitors of the market against dangers to life or health must be guaranteed.
- There must be no fear of significant disturbances to public safety or order.
- Only the following goods may be offered at weekly markets:
- Foodstuffs with the exception of alcoholic beverages
Alcoholic beverages are only permitted, among other things, if they have been produced from home-grown products of viticulture, agriculture or fruit-growing and horticulture. - Products of fruit-growing and horticulture, agriculture, forestry and fisheries
- raw natural products with the exception of larger livestock
- Foodstuffs with the exception of alcoholic beverages

Procedure
You must apply for the determination.
As a rule, an informal application with the following information is sufficient:
- Name of the organiser
- Date, time and place of the weekly market
- short description/concept of the weekly market
- Details of the range of goods
Some administrative authorities offer a form for this purpose or make it available online for download.
As soon as the weekly market has been established, you will receive written notification.
Attention: The establishment of the weekly market obliges you as the organiser to hold it.
The competent authority may impose conditions on the market, e.g. for the protection of participants. Conditions can also be added, changed or supplemented at a later date.
Deadlines
Submit the application at least six weeks before the start of the event. If there is a public market announcement, you will find the application deadline there.

When checking your personal reliability, the competent body may, in individual cases, request further documents in addition to those listed which are suitable for making a statement about your personal reliability.
In the case of legal entities (GmbH, Unternehmensgesellschaften, AG, eingetragene Genossenschaften), the application form is to be completed only for the legal entity itself. All personal documents must be submitted for all natural persons authorised to manage the company, e.g. certificate of good conduct, personal papers. For the legal entity, an extract from the Central Trade Register must also be applied for.
In the case of partnerships that are not themselves eligible for a permit (GbR, KG, OHG, PartG, GmbH & Co. KG), each managing partner requires the permit, so that an application form and all personal documents are necessary for each one.
Note: The authority may request further documents, e.g. a tax clearance certificate.

The amount of the fees is determined by the municipal fee statutes.

As the organiser, however, you can restrict the weekly market to certain groups of suppliers or visitors or exclude individual interested parties.
