Electoral roll (mayoral election) - apply for registration as a returnee
An official electoral roll is kept by the municipality for each electoral district. All citizens who are entitled to vote on election day are entered in this register.
However, persons who are entitled to vote as returnees are not automatically registered by the municipality. They must apply to be entered on the electoral roll.

Prerequisite
You are a returnee if you have
- have not yet had your main residence in the municipality for three months and had lost your right to vote because you
- had moved away from the municipality or
- Had moved your main place of residence, and
- return to the municipality within three years and re-establish your main residence.
Procedure
You can apply for entry on the electoral roll in writing to the competent office. Applicants who are unable to complete and submit the application themselves (e.g. due to a disability) may be assisted by another person.

If registration is possible, you will receive an election notification as soon as possible. You can also apply for a ballot paper.

Deadlines
You can submit the application up to 21 days before the election at the latest.

- The competent authority may request further documents, e.g. proof of
- the date of your departure or transfer of your main residence from the municipality, and
- Your right to vote at that time
