Apply for export of "green" waste for recovery within the EU
Information obligations apply to the cross-border export (shipment) of "green waste" for recovery in member states of the European Union (EU).
Please note: If you wish to export "green waste" to non-EU countries, you should contact the competent authority directly. Ask them about the applicablenregulations.
A notification procedure must always be carried out for waste on the Amber List and all other waste destined for disposal.
Responsible department
- for the documentation and storage of the disposal contract and the dispatch information: the exporter and the recipient of the waste or the operator of the disposal facility
- for carrying the shipping information during transport: the transporter
Details
Prerequisite
The waste is
- intended for recycling,
- listed in the Green Waste List and
- the amount of waste is more than 20 kilograms.
Procedure
As the exporter, you must conclude a disposal contract with the recipient of the waste, which also obliges you to take back the waste if the intended disposal cannot be completed or the shipment was illegal.
You must submit the contract to control authorities and SAA Sonderabfallagentur Baden-Württemberg GmbH on request.
In addition, the person who arranges the shipment must complete the "Shipping information" form before each waste transport. The transporter must carry this with them when transporting the waste.
When accepting the waste, the recipient or the operator of the disposal facility signs the form and keeps it in a safe place.
The person who arranges the shipment receives a copy.
Deadlines
All parties involved must keep the forms and copies thereof for three years and present them at any time upon request.
Note: Various authorities, such as the competent waste legislation authority or the police, may request the submission of the documents as part of inspections and/or monitoring.
